CORT District General Manager (DGM) Debbie Borrello was born and raised in New Orleans. Like most natives of the “Big Easy,” if you are fortunate to be born there, you never leave. After attending one semester of college in 1983, Debbie decided to join the Navy on a GI plan to attend college at a later time in her life.
On January 28, the CORT Furniture Rental and Clearance Center in Atlanta, Georgia, provided furniture to support youthSpark’s “Movers, Shakers & Changemakers” fundraiser for their new youth services center.

CORT’s former National Facilities Design Manager, and now a member of the Work Place Solutions Group, David Dillon recently returned from a trip to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he joined several members of his platoon who served together during the Vietnam War.
Earlier this month, the CORT Furniture Rental and Clearance Center in Austin, Texas, brought together the local community to compete in its third annual “Operation Chili Challenge,” which benefited Heroes Night Out Veterans Resource Center! Heroes Night Out is a non-profit organization that provides veterans and their families easy access to much-needed services during the holiday season, including meals, Christmas gifts and other holiday support.
Music Lead Delia Baker on the Path to Serving Her Country
A talented musician at Portage Central High School in Portage, Michigan, Delia Baker was unclear what she wanted to do after graduating High School. That was until one day her percussion instructor invited her to check out the 126th Army Band of the Michigan National Guard.
After graduating Warren Area High School in Warren, Pennsylvania, in 1977, CORT District General Manager (DGM) David Davis joined the Navy. Initially David was tested and approved to attend SEAL training, but the Navy needed submarine sailors more than they needed SEALs, and so began David’s military career.
Last month, CORT New Orleans provided furnishings for the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway benefitting St. Jude Children’s Hospital’s lifesaving research. CORT donated 90 pieces of furniture – from chairs, to tables and accents that made the custom house feel and look like a home.

From attending community events to promoting local sustainability efforts to supporting environmental education through legislation, more than 1 billion people participate in Earth Day activities each year.
