Since Hurricane Harvey tore through the greater Houston area in August 2017, Houston has gone without a new affordable housing community until now. New Hope Housing first broke ground in December 2018 on the NHH Dale Carnegie development and will open in September 2020. Located on a 2-acre tract in the Sharpstown area in southwest Houston, Dale Carnegie offers a safe, stable place for residents to call home.
The CORT Supportive Housing team worked closely during the planning stages with the architectural firm, design team, and New Hope Executives while making the furniture selections for the entire building, including the residential units.
NHH Dale Carnegie will be conveniently located south of Harwin Drive at Regency Square, a commercial development community. The facility will offer 170 fully-furnished studio apartment units in an amenity-rich neighborhood that includes: BakerRipley’s signature campus and federally qualified health clinic, a full-service grocery store, pharmacy, public library, and higher education institutions.
In their residence, tenants are treated to free utilities and cable TV access, furniture, refrigerators and microwaves, and a private tiled bath. They will also enjoy a community theatre room, kitchen, library, business center, training room, coin-operated washer/dryer facilities, and social service offices on the property.
A project like this does require a significant amount of time and support from all departments at CORT. With the Houston CORT team’s help, we provided exceptional service from the beginning to the end of this project.
