CORT Remains Dedicated to Military and Education through Partnership with Folds of Honor

A few weeks ago, kids across the nation loaded up their cars and kissed their loved ones goodbye as they headed off to college for the first time. Founded by Major Dan Rooney following his second tour of duty in Iraq, the Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to dependents and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation. To date, Folds of Honor has awarded more than 3,800 educational scholarships across the country.

As the exclusive furniture provider and a sponsor of the foundation, CORT donated $50,000 this year to Folds of Honor to go towards scholarships to deserving military family members. In total, 10 recipients each received a $5,000 scholarship to be used immediately or for future education needs.

CORT selected Folds of Honor as their corporate philanthropic partner because of their deep dedication to our military personnel over the last 40 years of being in business and because education has always been an important cause supported across CORT’s entire organization.

To help generate funds for the scholarship program, CORT has hosted a variety of special fundraising activities online and through our showrooms. CORT’s texting program runs through the end of this year, offering a convenient option for making a donation to the Folds of Honor Foundation. “We are thrilled to see our efforts over the last several months help these 10 deserving students fund their education under such an unfortunate and challenging time in their lives,” said Lisa Woodworth, vice president of Marketing for CORT. “We look forward to continuing our fundraising programs throughout the end of the year and bringing attention to all of the great things Folds of Honor is doing for military families.”
