CORT Hosts National Food Drive Benefitting Move For Hunger

This holiday season CORT hosted an internal food drive, challenging 16 locations across the country to collect food to be donated to Move For Hunger, a non-profit organization that mobilizes the relocation industry to fight hunger and reduce food waste.

From Nov. 1 to Nov. 15, CORT employees collected nearly 7,300 lbs. of food – enough to provide more than 6,000 meals that were personally delivered to local food banks just in time for Thanksgiving.

Prizes were awarded to the Omaha location for collecting the most donations per employee, and to the Kalamazoo district for “most creative food drive,” because they made a furniture set using the items donated.

“Building on the food drive our corporate office held last year,” said Lauren Castle, national accounts manager for CORT. “We wanted to engage districts across the country to make an even greater impact on those suffering from food insecurity in the local communities we serve.”

Founded in 2009, Move For Hunger connects with organizations within the relocation industry to provide boxes and supplies to property management companies and facilitates the means to get the food to local food banks, playing an integral role in hunger relief at the grassroots level.

Thank you to the CORT team for supporting this worthy cause!
