In honor of Veterans Day, CORT is once again teaming up with the Folds of Honor Foundation by inviting the community to support our military families and their education! The Folds of Honor Foundation was founded in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney to provide educational scholarships to dependents and spouses of military service men and women lost or disabled while serving our country.
If you’d like to donate, you can simply text “HERO” to 80888 to donate $5, or text “USA” to 80888 to donate $10. This will be a one-time charge that will be added to your mobile phone bill or deducted from a prepaid balance now through December 31.
CORT has been a partner of the Folds of Honor Foundation since 2012, providing support through various campaigns, including over $125,000 for educational scholarships. CORT also supplied furnishings for the first Honor Cottage, which is a retreat house for military families located on the shore of Skiatook Lake in Sperry, Oklahoma. CORT donated furniture, accessories and housewares to make the cottage a space for military families to unwind and relax away from the challenges of everyday life.
“CORT is proud to continue our support of the military through our partnership with the Folds of Honor Foundation. Its mission to provide educational scholarships to the families of those who have served our country ties two causes together that are very near and dear to our hearts,” said Lisa Woodworth, vice president of marketing for CORT. “The texting program makes it easy for people across the U.S. to contribute to a deserving cause that enables students the opportunity for education.”
On behalf of CORT, thank you to all veterans and families of veterans who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. We will also be highlighting brave CORT employees who have served our nation with CORT Corner blog posts throughout the year. Like Rick and Spencer Walker whose story we told yesterday, there are many CORT employees who deserve recognition every day for serving our country. Stay tuned as we tell the stories of heroes and honor our veterans.
