Folds of Honor Foundation Debuts Honor Cottage Furnished by CORT

honor cottageWhat better way to celebrate our freedom and honor our military on the fourth of July than by debuting the first Honor Cottage retreat house located on a wooded hillside on the shore of Skiatook Lake in Sperry, Okla.  The Folds of Honor Foundation officially opened the doors to the cottage and dedicated it to military families of injured or fallen soldiers as a place to rest and relax away from the challenges of everyday life. As the exclusive furniture provider of the foundation, CORT donated furniture, accessories and housewares to complete the cottage.

“For more than 40 years, CORT has been committed to supporting and honoring military personnel and their families through various channels in appreciation for their tremendous sacrifices for our country,” said Lisa Woodworth, vice president of marketing for CORT.  “The cottage includes a fully furnished living room, kitchen, dining area and multiple bedrooms to accommodate all members of the family, perfect for a weekend getaway. We’re excited for military families to visit and relax with loved ones in a place of comfort, peace and healing, away from the stresses they regularly endure.”

“Our military families have given so much so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today,” said Major Dan Rooney, founder of Folds of Honor. “Thanks to the support of companies like CORT, we are able to provide at least a respite from everyday life so these families can enjoy time together at the Honor Cottage.”
