Since 2012, CORT has been a partner and supporter of The Folds of Honor Foundation (FHF) by helping them in their mission to provide educational scholarships to dependents and spouses of fallen or severely injured soldiers across the United States.
The deadline to apply for a FHF 2015-2016 academic scholarship is March 31! CORT is asking its business partners, local community members and employees to encourage military families they may know to visit www.foldsofhonor.org/scholarships to learn more about the requirements for academic funding and see if they qualify.
Founded by Major Dan Rooney in 2007, Folds of Honor has awarded over 7,500 scholarships to date to deserving military families across the country. There are currently more than one million dependents of military service men and women, 87 percent of whom do not qualify for educational assistance. The Folds of Honor Foundation helps fill the need for financial assistance among military families and their dependents who wish to get a quality education.
Over the last several years, CORT has provided both monetary and product support to Folds of Honor Foundation. Through various campaigns, the company has donated close to $100,000 through educational scholarships and by furnishing the first Honor Cottage, a retreat house for military families located on the shore of Skiatook Lake in Sperry, Okla. CORT donated furniture, accessories and housewares to complete the cottage.
