The Phoenix Open PGA Tour hosts hundreds of thousands of attendees each year over a full week of events. Held from Monday, Jan. 20 to Sunday, Feb. 5 this year, the event at TPC Scottsdale-Champions Course in Scottsdale, Arizona, requires various staging areas, including many VIP and sponsor areas.
Pro-Em Party & Event Rentals, Arizona’s only full-service event management and rental company, turned to CORT Events and CORT Party Rental for the third consecutive year to deliver the “wow” with quality and stylish furnishings. CORT Events brought in more than 12 trailers filled with more than 8,000 individual pieces of furniture.
Among the areas designed and furnished by CORT was The Bay Club, recently recognized as the Best New Product of the PGA Tour. The Bay Club is a one-of-a-kind venue built to resemble a five-star resort. It overlooks the 17th fairway and green with access to an upscale lounge area as well as a viewing platform overlooking the 10th fairway. CORT’s G30 Powered Bar Tables lined the viewing platforms, allowing onlookers to charge their devices without missing a moment of the action. Natural boxwood hedges defined booth areas, providing a more private and relaxed experience for guests while elevating to a five-star hotel atmosphere.
CORT also designed and furnished the following areas:
- Greenskeeper’s Stadium featured three levels of individual suits with modern and comfortable furnishings from CORT’s Endless collection and the gift of convenient charging with Neo Powered Tables. Natural boxwood hedges and modern gray Miramar Dividers created private spaces within a modular and seamless design.
- Skybox 16 Lodge opens into a shared luxurious lounge area that ends on a comfortable viewing deck with a bird’s eye view of the action. CORT designed this space with a garden party theme, bringing in sleek, modern furniture and touches of greenery to create a vibrant atmosphere. A custom bar was also created for NBC Golf Now, which was live broadcast from the Loge.
- Hole 17 Suite was designed custom for a sponsor to evoke a modern Arizona theme. Custom built walls were decorated with watercolor paintings of distinctly Arizona scenery. Elegant tables from CORT’s Napoleon collection paired with sleek, white chairs brought in a modern feel. Rose Gold Wave Maxim Bars added a touch of copper, a staple in Arizona.
- The Coupe, named in an ode to the Arizona Thunderbirds, held the after party for the events. CORT designed the space to create a nightclub feel, leveraging the Endless collection.
The 2017 Phoenix Open entertained more than 655,000 people for the week, breaking the event’s all-time attendance record. Between its record-breaking attendance and award-winning venues with best-in-class design, the event was certainly one to remember.
