As we enter into the holiday season, we are reminded of the importance of giving back to the community. So, when The Meredith Vieira Show contacted CORT about helping a family in need, we were thrilled at the opportunity to help spruce up their living space.
Laura Cowan is a survivor of domestic violence who has dedicated her life to being an advocate for others found in this unfortunate circumstance. As a single mother, Laura and her three children live in an apartment in Cleveland, Ohio. After hearing about Laura’s story, CORT was thrilled to be able to work with The Meredith Vieira Show to help this more than deserving family.
On November 14, our Cleveland team joined The Meredith Vieira Show’s Pick-Me-Up Truck to surprise Laura and her three daughters at their home, giving the family living room furniture, beds, dressers, kitchen supplies and more donated by CORT. In addition, CORT provided Laura with a check for $1,000 to help purchase groceries and cover other living expenses.
We’re honored to be able to help such a deserving family. And, a special thanks goes out to CORT’s Cleveland team for helping turn this into a reality. In case you missed the show, feel free to watch the clip, which aired on November 26.
