Throughout November, CORT’s Minneapolis Rental Showroom and Clearance Center held a Donate and Save promotion benefitting Sharing and Caring Hands, a safety net organization helping those who cannot obtain help from welfare.Through boxed or canned food donations, customers could support this great organization while also receiving an additional $50 off their entire purchase.
Through this program, we were able to provide Sharing and Caring Hands with a total of 100 food items and a check donation! And, our customers were thrilled with the idea of helping a worthy cause during the holiday season, even if they weren’t purchasing furniture. In fact, one customer chose to waive her $50 discount and donate $50 worth of food items instead.
Founded in 1985, Sharing and Caring Hands provides a host of services and assistance including food, clothing, shelter, transportation assistance and medical and dental help for over 20,000 people every month. The center is run by volunteers and a few paid staff so this organization truly relies on donations for support.
Thank you to all of our customers and CORT employees who participated in this food drive. We look forward to working with Sharing and Caring Hands again.
