2015 Style Trends Taking a Page from History

CORT_simone-bedAnother year is winding down and that means it is time for the CORT merchandise group to develop the direction of our products for 2015. To begin the process, the merchandise group headed to North Carolina to attend the High Point Furniture Market in October to conduct research on the newest trends in home furnishings.

CORT_kennedy-peacockAs we walked throughout the market, we seemed to take a step back in time to the design heyday of the 1930s, where designers created over-the-top interiors to create glitzy and glamorous showplaces. The 30s style started with elements from art deco style and the grandeur of the Empire and Regency style. Next year, it will be all about glamour told though the details – from shiny crystals, mirrors, gold and silver leaf applications, to rich colors, dramatic velvets, lacquered pieces, beautiful carpets and fur accents.

CORT offers a number of pieces in their product collection for consumers drawn to this style. Everything from a dramatic white velvet sofa with real flokati pillows on a black base to a rich teal velvet tufted tuxedo frame. These pieces are accented with silver or rose gold metallic tables.

CORT_cassandra-bedLooking to add some drama to your sleeping space? CORT offers a variety of beds that are intricately carved with a silver wash or a completely metallic silver bed with crystals in the tufting.
