CORT Furniture Rental has partnered with Otis College of Art and Design, California’s first independent art college, to create a student housing program for first-year students
CORT Furniture Rental has partnered with Otis College of Art and Design (Otis) in Los Angeles to create a convenient and friendly Student Housing Program for first-year students. CORT and Otis utilized their relationship with an apartment community located near Otis’ campus to create dorm-like apartments equipped with resident assistants, furniture, special programs for students and a campus-like environment.
This Student Housing Program has enabled Otis to create a welcoming environment for more than 30 percent of Otis’ first-year students who were once overwhelmed by choosing housing in L.A.
“Our relationship with CORT has provided more than a welcoming home for students, but a true student community that reflects the culture of Otis,” said Michael Richards, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Otis. “CORT has been an integral part in community development for our Student Housing Program by helping provide the furniture and campus culture at our off-campus housing facility.”
CORT manages all furniture for the housing program, including maintenance and replacement, thereby removing this significant asset burden and investment for Otis.
“This is an exciting example of how CORT goes beyond providing furniture to being a true housing solutions provider,” said Kimberly Espinoza, account representative for CORT in L.A. “We help facilitate a convenient, reliable housing solution for Otis that provides students with affordable, campus-like apartments just around the corner from school.”
Founded in 1918, Otis is Los Angeles’ first independent school of art.
