At the age of 69-years-old, the last thing that Maria Val Porto De Sa thought she would have to do is start all over again. The Houston resident is one of the many victims that lost everything following the Watson Grinding explosion on January 24,2020. In an interview with KTRK ABC 13, Val Porto De Sa said: “I lost my whole house that I’ve been living in and paying for all these years.”
Since the explosion, she has been living in a hotel while she waits for insurance money to arrive. Thanks to the Memorial Assistance Ministries, Val Porto De Sa will soon be moving into a place that feels more like a home and it will be outfitted with furniture from her local CORT Furniture Outlet.
