The answer to how to best assist military veterans in the Orange County areas – especially those who are homeless and struggling to survive on the streets- has long been under question. While the full solution has yet to be found, part of it has arrived thanks to Jamboree Housing Corporation.
With the main goal being to provide the largest Permanent Supportive Housing development for veterans in Orange County, construction on their Spanish revival-style Santa Ana Veterans Village is now underway. The three-story thoughtfully planned 75-unit supportive housing development is a unique solution to modern veterans’ housing. In addition to providing formerly homeless veterans and their families housing, the Santa Ana Veterans Village brings the assistance they will need to move forward in their lives under one roof.
CORT Los Angeles partnered with Jamboree to furnish all 75 of the units with quality, stylish and durable furniture for veterans and their families. Work on this project began on January 7, 2019, with displaying the furniture at the groundbreaking ceremony for the development.
Next year, when families move into Veterans Village, they will have immediate access to employment assessment, training, and job placement, as well as much-needed mental health services to support their positive futures.
