CORT Names Tamela Coval Executive Strategist

Multifamily industry leader teams up with transitions services giant

CORT, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, today announces that multifamily industry veteran and guru, Tamela Coval, has joined the company as an executive strategist. In this position, Tamela will apply her 33 years of multifamily industry experience to grow and enrich CORT’s national partnerships and supplier relationships.

The apartment industry continues to grow with approximately 33 percent of the total United States population renting their home or apartment, according to the National Multifamily Housing Council. CORT is a key player in providing apartment rental services to meet the needs of this rapidly-growing market. With a variety of service offerings, including apartment rentals, tours and showings as well as leading rental site ApartmentSearch.com, CORT is a leader in connecting renters to apartments. As executive strategist, Tamela will raise awareness about CORT as a partner to the apartment industry.

Tamela joins CORT after 20 years at industry media giants Primedia (ApartmentGuide.com) and Network Communications Inc. (ApartmentFinder, The Real Estate Book, Corporate Choices and LivingChoices.com) where she encouraged national participation from CORT while serving side-by-side with CORT employees in leadership activities at the National Apartment Association. With a career chronicled in industry leadership circles, Tamela serves as a notable pacesetter to CORT’s national team. Her career service commitment, robust network and focus on multifamily application of emerging technologies enhance CORT’s dedication to delivering much more than furnishings.

“Tamela is a well-known, highly-respected leader within the multifamily community,” said Jeff Rowe, vice president of sales at CORT. “Her hire is a further validation of CORT’s customer first commitment and true partnership with the industries we serve.”

In addition to decades of service to the multifamily industry, Tamela has held numerous volunteer leadership roles including board of director positions for local, state and national industry associations such as the National Apartment Association (NAA) and National Supplier’s Council Chair (NAA-NSC). Tamela remains an active participant with the National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC).

“I am thrilled to have Tamela join CORT and help us live, work and celebrate with the apartment industry,” said Pete Regules, national manager of multi-family housing products and services at CORT. “Tamela knows, appreciates and bears witness to the importance of CORT’s continued partnership with the apartment industry.”
