CORT Awards $50,000 in Scholarships to Military Families Across The U.S.

Leading provider of furniture rental and transition services makes donation through partnership with the Folds of Honor Foundation

 

CHANTILLY,Va.(August 19, 2013)–CORT, the nation’s leading provider of transition services, is very proud to announce that it has awarded $50,000 in educational scholarships to deserving military families through the Folds of Honor Foundation. Founded by Major Dan Rooney in 2007, Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to dependents and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation.

The scholarship recipients are from various areas of the country including, New York, Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Chicago, Denver, Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Grand Rapids, Mich. CORT will provide each of the recipients with a $5,000 scholarship to be used immediately or for future education needs.

CORT hosts a variety of special fundraising activities online and through their showrooms across the country to engage employees and customers in helping military families. CORT’s texting program enables convenient donations. Participants simply text “CORT” to 27722 and a $10 donation will be made to Folds of Honor Foundation and added to the customer’s mobile phone bill or deducted from a prepaid balance.
