Office Furniture Rental: Staying Comfortable At Your Desk

At CORT we offer affordable office furniture rental solutions that cater to your business’ needs. We understand that comfort is essential to a productive work environment. That is why we have furniture rental choices that are built for comfort in the office!

Having the perfect chair or desk is only the first step for feeling comfortable and staying productive at work. Here are some tips for sustaining that comfort all day:

The Morning Stretch

Time is of essence in the morning, especially if you like to savor every last moment of sleep. Try integrating some of these stretches and lower-back exercises into your regular morning routine. At the very least, stand, reach and touch your toes for three, 10-second intervals to loosen your back muscles before you turn on the coffee pot. Pay attention to the natural pauses in your morning routine. Where you can, insert exercises.

Be Mindful of Your Desk Area

Make sure your desk area is well lit. To minimize stress that can cause spinal discomfort, try to maintain a clutter-free, organized space. Have a physical object that you can touch or mold when you are feeling anxious. We like stress balls, Silly Putty, Play-Doh and Legos. Keep pictures of loved ones, accolades, or inspiring words near your desk that will facilitate calm feelings throughout the day. And always keep a water bottle near and take sips throughout the day. Staying hydrated can keep the mid-day snooze attacks away. Refill your cup on breaks.

Take Regular Breaks

Taking a break from your desk area does wonders for your mind, eyes, and back. Take a walk around the building and do some light stretches. Don’t forget to rest your eyes! Focus your eyes on the farthest spot you can for 1-2 minutes. This will help with the toll that staring at a computer screen takes on your eyes. For some, the word “break” means distraction, but it is a critical element of staying focused. If you are afraid that your work will get thrown off track, finish the task at hand then leave a memory jogger on a Post-It note. Then, set your computer on sleep mode with all of the windows open that you will need for the next task. When you return, you will be more prepared to go right back to work.

Now, we are halfway through the week and it is time to get comfortable and stay productive! CORT will take care of the ergonomics of your office furniture so that you can focus on your work and the tasks at hand. We hope these tips will make your work environment even more comfortable.
