Summer is in full swing in most parts of the country… well, except for San Francisco, where it’s currently 62 degrees as I type this post, and outdoor events and event planning are the norm well into September. Over the past few years there’s been a notable increase in outdoor events held in unusual locales such as a vineyards, boats, or golf courses.
The relocation industry looks vastly different today than it did in 2007. In the past, more than 60 percent of relocating employees were homeowners; today, more than 70 percent of relocating employees are renters. In fact, executives and their families are driving growth in single-family home rentals. With this shift, corporate relocation policies are changing, impacting how HR professionals support employees in transition.
What better way to celebrate our freedom and honor our military on the fourth of July than by debuting the first Honor Cottage retreat house located on a wooded hillside on the shore of Skiatook Lake in Sperry, Okla. The Folds of Honor Foundation officially opened the doors to the cottage and dedicated it to military families of injured or fallen soldiers as a place to rest and relax away from the challenges of everyday life.
